We made it! The 9 hour plane ride went well...for the most part. I was a little nervous, but it ended up being no big deal! The only annoying part was trying to sleep sitting straight up. It was awful! Seriously, I never could get comfortable and probably got all of 1 hour of sleep. The best part about the plane ride was that Continental has a personal TV on the back of every chair with over 1500 movies, lots of TV shows, music, and games to choose from! So, I watched Twilight, You've Got Mail, FRIENDS, and listened to Taylor Swift and played Sudoku. Oh and they even had the old school Mariah Carey-Daydream album that I couldn't resist.
Once we landed, we had to go through London Border Patrol (not sure if that's what they are really called, but you get the idea). This total jerk decided to make fun of me for incorrectly filling out my form required to enter London. Let's remember that I was totally sleep deprived! On the form for "contact info in London" I didn't read it fully and put my U.S. contact info-my address. Well at first it was kind of funny, but then he completely took advantage of the situation and started bashing Americans. When he found out I had just graduated from college he said "Well, that sure explains alot about the U.S. education system."
Other than that guy, everyone else has been very nice! I honestly expected people here to not be so friendly here, but so far they are proving me wrong!
I love our hotel! It's very quaint and private. We are staying right across the street from Kensington Palace. As soon as we got to the hotel and settled in our room we headed to Kensington Palace for a tour which included some of Princess Diana's wardrobe and then a tour of the State Apartments. The Kensington Gardens were to-die-for! I have never seen such a colorful and extravagant garden! We had afternoon tea at the Orangery (and a little dessert!) and headed back to the hotel for a much, much needed nap!
We woke up and got ready for our night at the theatre.
WICKED WAS AMAZING!!
The show was at The Apollo Victoria. I loved every second of the show and seriously already want to see it again!
After Wicked, we were starving! We had not had a real meal all day, just snacked. So, we went to a very cute Italian restaurant called Bella Italia and had some delicious pizza. Then we hopped in a cab and headed back to the hotel!
Its 12:30AM here and I am exhausted to say the least.
I need to get some sleep because tomorrow is a big day - Buckingham Palace!
I will post some pics tomorrow...I'm way too sleepy to do it now!
Goodnight!
